STICKS
In The 70's They Heisted Diamonds. In The
80's Sold Drugs. In The 90's They Deal STICKS.
For Lenny, the allure of a good Cuban cigar has become more than a form of
relaxation- it’s become his living and a very lucrative one at that. He became
a "Stick Man" to get himself off the streets and now enjoys the
luxuries of life,
Lenny enters Domino’s private cigar club, with no
understanding of how cut-throat the world of smuggled Cuban cigars can really
be. This is a place where Hollywood’s high rollers come to play. Their common
interest: fast women, expensive spirits, and the love of a good cigar. The
"sticks" must be special, and Domino plans to offer the most sought
after cigar of them all the El Mariposa.
Smuggled in from Cuba this valuable shipment has been
stolen from Fidel Castro’s own private stock and brought into the States by a
third class smuggler named Mark. Mark has agreed to sell the desired Mariposas
to Domino for a substantial payoff. But unbeknownst to Mark, his Cuban
girlfriend, Maria, has devised a double-cross and plans to trade the cigars for
illegal arms to procure the liberation of Cuba.
When Lenny hears about the shipment he offers Mark and
Maria a great deal. Mark knows that Lenny’s offer is much better deal than the
one he made with Domino but Maria becomes outraged and wants nothing to do with
Lenny.
A comedy of errors finds Lenny caught up in Maria’s secret web of deceit.
What started as a simple cigar deal, now becomes a race among Domino and his
boys, a group of crafty arms dealers and two deceitful detectives from the FBI.
Against his better judgment, Lenny becomes sympathetic to Maria’s cause and to
make things worse... he finds himself falling in love with her.
Sticks is a cleverly crafted exhale into Hollywood’s seductive world of
cigar smuggling. When the smoke clears, Lenny will learn that an expensive cigar
can be more than hazardous to your health... it can be deadly.
